This project is designed to transform the region, strategically bridging the gap between educational outputs and Industry’s evolving needs, and is supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB).

The South East Cross-Border Alliance (SECBA) is a partnership between DkIT, SRC, Cavan Institute, Monaghan Institute and Workplus, funded through the PEACEPLUS Programme. It supports new training, collaboration and job creation across the region.

A SECBA CERT is achieved on completion of funded short, focused and flexible training courses developed jointly by colleges and employers across the border region.

Each SECBA CERT helps learners gain new skills and recognised qualifications — from entry level to advanced study.

For employers, SECBA CERTS provide a trusted, high-quality way to develop staff and build capability within your business.

Courses are fully funded through PEACEPLUS, for eligible participants. For companies, State Aid rules apply.

SECBA courses are open to eligible applicants who meet the entry criteria — school leavers, career changers, people returning to work, and current employees wishing to develop new skills. Full entry requirements for each specific course are listed on its course page.

DkIT-led PEACEPLUS project officially launched to transform education and industry

Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) has officially launched the Southeast Higher Education/Further Education/Industry Cross-Border Alliance (SECBA) project, a collaboration between higher education, further education and industry. The project is supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB). It will encompass the south-east region of Northern Ireland and the border counties of Ireland, running until October 2028.
