Accessibility Statement for the Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) website.

Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our website, in accordance with S.I. 358/2020 and the European Accessibility Act.

DkIT.ie is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA, due to the non-accessible content listed below. (Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.)

Known compliance issues

  • PDFs: Many documents are published as PDFs, which are less accessible than HTML pages for people using assistive technologies. Certain PDF documents on this site do not adhere to accessibility standards, potentially hindering full accessibility for users of screen readers.
  • Subdomain sites: There are many different subsites and systems across our domain, including our HR system, our helpdesk system, and student-facing systems. Accessibility statements for such systems and subsites will be provided locally.

Preparation of this Accessibility Statement

We regularly engage with the National Disability Authority (NDA), which is the monitoring body for accessibility of public sector websites in Ireland, and our website is subject to weekly simplified reviews using automated software administered by the NDA.
