Course Overview

This course will teach students the fundamentals of creating and managing an event, spanning from the beginning of planning to post-event analysis. Students will be involved in planning and organising events including working on client briefs, carrying out risk assessments, designing presentations and producing reports. Students will study and learn to deal with complex and challenging topics including revenue management, public relations, marketing, technical and production operations.

Work placement

In Year 2 students undertake an- 18-week industry work placement. This gives students a much broader experience for both their soft skills and technical skills. They can also gain contacts in industry to help them in their future career.

Professional Accreditations

Students will have the opportunity to achieve additional micro-credentials such as Google Digital Garage and CHIA (Certificate in Hotel Industry Analytics)

Education Progression

On completion of this course, students will be eligible to progress onto the Level 8 Add-On course: BA (Hons) in Event Management. (This will be subject to student numbers. Where places are limited, offers will be linked to the final GPA achieved.)
