Overview
The vision of the DkIT Sports Scholarship Programme is to focus on developing our top athletes so that they are in a position to achieve sporting success and development, during and after their time at Dundalk Institute of Technology.
Sports Scholarships are intended for persons of outstanding sporting ability. How to Apply (1st Year CAO)
The following instructions are for First Year CAO Applicants wishing to apply for a DkIT Sports Scholarship should.
- Complete all sections of the Sports Scholarship Application form by 1st June.
- Apply for your DkIT chosen course through the Central Applications Office system. Confirmation of your application to CAO must accompany the Scholarship application.
If you use the Change of Mind facility via CAO, you must also inform DkIT of your new DkIT course choice list. (You need only specify the DkIT courses that you have applied for.)
DkIT GAA Scholarship
The DkIT GAA Scholarship is aimed at those candidates who wish to pursue a full-time third level education whilst simultaneously pursuing a playing career at the highest level of Gaelic Football/Hurling in Ireland.
DkIT General Elite Athlete Sports Scholarship
The DkIT General Elite Athlete Sports Scholarship is aimed at those candidates who wish to pursue a full-time third level education whilst simultaneously pursuing a playing career at the highest level of your designated sport.
DkIT and Drogheda United FC Soccer Scholarship
The DkIT and Drogheda United FC Soccer Scholarship is aimed at those candidates who wish to pursue a full-time third level education whilst simultaneously pursuing a professional soccer playing career with Drogheda United FC.
DkIT & Louth GAA Sports Scholarship
DkIT & Louth GAA Sports Scholarship is aimed at those candidates who wish to pursue a full-time third level education whilst simultaneously pursuing a playing career at the highest level of Gaelic Football/ Hurling in Ireland with Louth GAA.
DkIT & Dundalk FC Sports Scholarship
The DkIT & Dundalk FC Sports Scholarship is aimed at those candidates who wish to pursue a full-time third level education whilst simultaneously pursuing a professional soccer playing career with League of Ireland Champions Dundalk FC.
DkIT Louth LGFA GAA Scholarship
The DkIT Louth LGFA GAA Scholarship is aimed at those candidates who wish to pursue a full-time third level education whilst simultaneously pursuing a playing career at the highest level of Gaelic Football/Camogie in Louth.

Financial Support
Sports Scholarship students receive financial support ranging from €500-€1500 per year
Study Skills Support
Sports Scholarship students will have access to study skills support.

Performance planning and analysis, Fitness testing, Strength and conditioning programme, Nutrition, Psychology, Physiotherapy
Free use of sports facilities
