DkIT Students study on Erasmus+ Blended Mobility in IUT Lens, France
A group of eight students from DkIT, four second-year students from the BSc (Honours) in Computing in Software Development and four from the BA (Hons) in Film and Television Production, participated in EU Erasmus+ projects in France from March 9th to March 13th 2026.
The projects were hosted by IUT Lens (Université d'Artois) France, and included students from ISPGAYA Portugal, and IUT Lens, Vernier College, Canada.
The Informatics project was focused on Developing a Web-Enabled Searchable Collection System and the film project focused on Developing a media marketing campaign for a selected product. Students participating in the informatics project worked on multi-national teams that brainstormed ideas, developed plans, designed interfaces and user interactions, investigated markets, and developed software using web technologies (SQLite, Php, React and Javascript). Students presented an interim report midweek, and a final presentation given on the last day where staff provided feedback.
The Film project teams were tasked with developing marketing material for a product. They developed print media and short films for social media promotion. Developing a consistent design and strong theme for their campaign/promotion was emphasised. Presentations were delivered midweek to staff and students on the final day. The project was funded by the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme with the support of DkIT International Office.
