In this talk entitled 'Science on the farm', Joe can give an overview of how farmers can use science every day to help plants grow, keep animals healthy and protect nature on and around their farm. Joe will also talk about where our food comes from and the number of people that are involved in helping us get our breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Joe is a lecturer and researcher in Agricultural Science and has conducted research projects focused on improving the quantity and quality of crops or grass that farmers around the world can produce or feed to their animals.

This talk is aimed at students considering a career in the sciences or agriculture, and highlights how embracing science can unlock doors to a varied and exciting career in agriculture both in Ireland and around the world.
