This course introduces students to the fundamentals of business management and prepares them with the skills to work managing a modern complex business.
Students explore diverse aspects of business operations, honing their analytical and critical thinking abilities to make informed decisions and investigate how organisations think and work in the world in which they operate. Additionally, the course emphasises effective leadership and communication skills, enabling students to manage teams, inspire innovation, and drive organisational success.

Understanding the Industry
It is the process of planning, organising, directing, and controlling the activities of a business or organisation to achieve its goals and objectives. Or Studies Abroad Or Work Placement: Students can complete a work placement, study abroad with Erasmus, or continue with Year 3 modules.
Work placement
In Year 3 students have the opportunity to study abroad or to be placed in an organisation on a 12-week industry work placement.
This gives students a much broader experience for both their soft skills and technical skills. They can also gain contacts in industry to help them in their future career. Students who travel abroad can significantly improve their language skills and immerse themselves in another culture.
Education Progression
On completion of this course, students will be eligible to progress onto the Level 8 Add-On course: Bachelor of Business Studies (Honours). (This will be subject to student numbers. Where places are limited, offers will be linked to the final GPA achieved.)

Entry requirements
In addition to the standard entry requirements below, there are the following Language Elective Requirements: French: Ordinary level grade O3 or Higher level Grade H5 at Leaving Certificate or equivalent. Spanish/German/ Chinese: No prior knowledge required.

Advanced Entry & Transfer Applications
Advanced Entry is for applicants who have previous educational achievements and/or work experience and want to be considered for direct entry into year 2, 3, or 4 of a course. This includes students looking to transfer to DkIT from another Higher Education provider.
International Application (non-EU)
International Applicants (not from or living in the EU) can apply through an agent or directly to DkIT to study this course.
