Film students present at An Táin Arts Centre

15 November 2024

Fourth-year students of Advanced Film Theory are engaging in a series of film presentations at An Táin Arts Centre, Dundalk, during the months of October and November. This successful collaboration, which has been taking place since 2018, fosters the visibility of our students and their amazing work, while sustaining collaborative relationships between academic and non-academic sectors.

Each year, five Academy-Awarded films selected for the autumn programme at An Táin are discussed by DkIT students who entertain the film audiences with their lively presentations and astute commentary. A roller-coaster of emotions, as it has been described by the students, this yearly activity gives them the opportunity to apply the knowledge learned in class while performing in front of a general audience. It adds a new, unique dimension to their learning experience and represents a fantastic way to involve DkIT students in the cultural and community life of Dundalk. This year’s screenings include- Barbie (8 October), Past Lives (22 October), The Zone of Interest (23 October), American Fiction (19 November) and The Color Purple (26 November). Screenings are open to everyone.
