DkIT Early Childhood courses awarded the Professional Award Criteria and Guidelines (PACG)01 July 2022
The BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Studies and the BA in Applied Early Childhood Studies have both been awarded the Professional Award Criteria and Guidelines (PACG), devised by the Qualification Advisory Board (QAB).
The award acknowledges the rich and diverse learning experiences that these programmes provide for students which allows them to develop their values, knowledge and practices as they develop as early childhood educators.
What does this mean
The purpose of the PACG is to support the development of professional awards for early childhood educators at level 7 and level 8 on the national framework of qualifications. It aims to ensure consistency of approach and quality in the provision of education, ensuring graduates are fully prepared to take on the complex challenges of practice in the field of early years.
This award ensures that both Early Childhood courses at DkIT meet the regulatory requirements for working in the Early Years sector in Ireland and both courses are included in the list of approved programmes with adherence to the Professional Award Criteria Guidelines.
Students enrolling on these programmes commencing from September 2022 will be eligible for Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth (DCEDIY) incentives.
