DkIT Creative Media students set to showcase ambitious graduate exhibition
A diverse and thought-provoking exhibition showcasing final-year Creative Media projects will take place at the end of May, highlighting the work of emerging designers, artists, filmmakers and digital creatives.
The exhibition will be held in the Carrolls Building at Dundalk Institute of Technology on Thursday, 28 May 2026. It will bring together a wide range of media — from games, installations and speculative design to film, photography, AI, illustration and interactive experiences — all developed as part of the BA and BA (Hons) Creative Media programmes.
The DkIT team invites anyone interested to join them for a celebration of creative and innovative work by the Class of 2026 from 6pm to 9pm. Admission is free and all are welcome.
The projects on display explore contemporary issues such as identity, technology, memory, mental health, activism, social media and environmental responsibility. While visually distinct, each work demonstrates a strong balance of conceptual thinking, technical skill and creative ambition, encouraging audiences to reflect on the world around them. Naomi Gatta won Best in Show at FÍS 2025. Her print project Eesh, captured the spirit of Ireland’s youth—exploring streetwear, nightlife, and the impact of social media on identity.
Lecturer JJ Quinlan, who curated the exhibition, praised the variety and depth of work on display:
"I’m very excited to see such a wide range of projects brought together. The standard of design and technical skill is incredibly high, but what really stands out is how willing students are to ask deep questions about life, society and the world we’re shaping through media.”
The exhibition reflects a new generation of creatives who are not only technically proficient, but also socially engaged and unafraid to challenge dominant narratives.
Dr Adèle Commins, Head of Department of Creative Arts, Media and Music commented:
“I admire the imagination of our students and the innovative ways in which they present their ideas. It is wonderful to see the culmination of the skills they have developed throughout their degree.”
