First Year DkIT students travel to ISPGAYA in Porto to take part in Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme
Students from DkIT joined peers from the seven participating nations to form twelve interdisciplinary teams of seven members each, to develop an entertainment App. This Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) took place in ISPGAYA in Porto from 19th to 23rd May 2025.
Each team combined students from Business, Communication, and Information Technology (IT) disciplines. The core objective was to conceptualise, design, and develop a basic prototype for an innovative entertainment application, simulating a real-world project environment.

Throughout the intensive week in ISP Gaya, students engaged in team building, faculty mentoring sessions, and intensive co-creation. The culmination was the presentation and pitching of all twelve distinct app concepts to peers and faculty.
The programme successfully achieved its key aims: fostering interdisciplinary collaboration between Business, Communication, and IT students; promoting international cooperation and intercultural communication within diverse teams; and providing practical experience in the app development lifecycle. Our Irish students gained invaluable hands-on skills, enhanced their problem-solving and presentation abilities, and built a strong international network. The BIP, expertly coordinated by ISPGAYA, provided a transformative learning experience, effectively applying theoretical knowledge to a creative challenge within a dynamic European context.
