DkIT’s Creative Students Broaden Their Horizons in Spain
Students from Creative Media Year 2 & 3 along with Year 3 students from Film & Television recently participated in an Erasmus + Intensive Programme in Zaragoza Spain. This gave these DkIT’s students a unique opportunity to broaden their educational horizons and experience new cultures for 8 days. They met media, engineering and architecture students from Spain (San Jorge University) and Netherlands (AVANs University) for a busy week of teamwork and the creation of multidisciplinary and multicultural architectural and media projects.

This occasion served as a remarkable opportunity for students to connect with individuals from varied educational backgrounds which also fostered a rich cultural exchange. In addition to their academic pursuits, the students enjoyed enriching cultural trips to old castles in the Pyrenees and were given comprehensive tours of Zaragoza's historical city centre. These experiences provided them with a deeper understanding of the region's rich heritage and history.
The main highlight of the program was the Collaborative Project, where students were divided into multidisciplinary and multinational teams. Each team was tasked with creating a building that symbolized Zaragoza, the project required incorporating various elements, with a particular focus on media. Not only did the students contribute to the architectural design, but they also played a crucial role in branding and producing a video showcasing their building in Zaragoza. The aim was to entice people to visit the building and experience the unique blend of culture and innovation it represented.
This multifaceted project not only challenged the students creatively but also provided them with practical, hands-on experience in applying their skills across different mediums. The culmination of their efforts resulted in a tangible representation of their cultural immersion and collaborative endeavours during their time in Spain.
