What makes this course different

Understanding the Industry

Ireland continues to experience significant growth in domestic heat pump installations as part of the national transition towards low-carbon heating technologies.

Current installer training programmes focus primarily on system selection, design, installation and commissioning. As the installed number of heat pumps continues to increase, the industry requires technicians capable of supporting these systems throughout their operational lifespan. Many installers report that while they are comfortable installing and commissioning systems, they have received limited formal training in servicing and maintenance of heat pump systems.

This HPSM programme aims to bridge this gap by providing learners with structured practical training focused on maintaining and troubleshooting operational heat pump systems.

Career Opportunities

  • Heat pump servicing and maintenance technician
