Multi-Agent Multi-Modal Healthcare Platform (MAMM)

The Mult-Agent Multi-Modal (MAMM) Work Programme will support the development of a multi-agent, multi-modal healthcare platform that is compliant with software and healthcare regulations. AI has huge potential benefits within the healthcare domain, but healthcare remains an inherently risk-adverse domain. At this time, regulators are working to develop standards and guidance that will help developers advance this technology. Members of the Regulated Software Research Centre (RSRC) at DkIT are at the forefront of this development. But even if regulations are successfully implemented to develop a singular AI agent within the healthcare environment, it is not clear if these would be applicable, or how they would impact multi-agent systems. Healthcare applications tend to be singularly focussed, looking at one specific metric or measure, yet comprehensive healthcare of a patient must consider a holistic approach. The researcher on this project will develop a Multi-Agent Platform (MAP) to tackle a specific healthcare issue, with the objective that this will be scalable and generalisable across multiple healthcare applications.
