Welcome to the Registrars Office

The Registrar is a member of the Executive Board and is responsible for the leadership and coordination of the Institute’s academic policy and quality assurance through the Institute’s Academic Council.

The Registrar works directly with the Heads of School (and other Heads of function and staff) in promoting the quality, relevance and development of the Institute’s portfolio of programmes and is secretary of the Academic Council.

Comprised of the following areas:

Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT)

The Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) at Dundalk Institute of Technology provides a wide range of training and supports for both staff and students. CELT also offers a range of professional development programmes.

International Study

Every year more than 600 international students choose to study with us, making our campus one of the most diverse and multicultural of all Institutes of Technology in Ireland.
Using the Library

Library

The De Chastelain Library holds thousands of books and journals, while also curating a virtual collection of e-books and journal articles. Located in the T.K. Whitaker Building on the campus, the library was designed by Scott Tallon Walker and it was officially opened in August 2001.

Academic Calendar

The Academic Year runs from September to August. Most programs are organised on a semester basis, there being two semesters in the academic year. Apprenticeship programs may run on a different timetable.

Academic Council

The Academic Council is the statutory body appointed by the Governing Body to assist the Institute with planning, coordination, development and overseeing of its educational work, as well as developing and maintaining academic standards and of the courses and activities of the institute.

Executive Board

The President coordinates the activities of the Institute through the Executive Board. It allocates the Institute's resources, both capital and human, within the budget and policy guidance determined by the Governing Body.
