DkIT Computing Students Travel to France on an Erasmus+ project
11 March 2023Ten 2nd year students from the BSc (Honours) in Computing in Software Development travelled to Lens, in the north of France, from March 5th to 11th 2023 to participate in a week-long intensive coding project, called eCOAL23.
As well as our students, the project involved students from the ISPGAYA (Portugal), Vanier College (Canada), and from the French host college (IUT de Lens).
The students were formed into international teams in such a way that each team included students from each of the four colleges. The student teams were tasked with designing and developing a newspaper mobile app.
As well as developing technical skills, the project also helped to increase the BSc (Honours) in Computing students' communications skills, as they had to present their work twice during the week.
As well as working on the project, the students got to visit the Vimy Ridge World War One historical site. The students also got to go take part in various social activities, including being treated to a pizza and bowling evening.
