DkIT lecturer receives Best Conference Paper Award at INDEA-2026
Dr Shama Siddiqui, Lecturer in ICT at Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT), received the Best Conference Paper Award at the International Conference on Next Generation Data Engineering & Analytics (INDEA-2026), recently held at the University of Salford, Manchester.
Dr Siddiqui presented her paper, “Towards a Human-Centered Understanding of Wellbeing: Lessons from Digital Monitoring Studies,” which explores insights from digital monitoring research and considers how technology-based approaches can contribute to a more human-centered understanding of wellbeing.
The paper was selected for the Best Conference Paper Award following a rigorous multi-stage peer-review and evaluation process. INDEA-2026 received more than 650 research paper submissions from around the world, with approximately 18% accepted for publication, and the Best Conference Paper Award recognised a single outstanding research contribution.
Dr Siddiqui’s participation at INDEA-2026 was supported through HEA Research Assistance funding at DkIT, enabling the presentation and dissemination of the research to an international audience. The award represents a significant outcome from this research support and provides international recognition for research being undertaken at DkIT in the area of technology-enabled, human-centered research.
