DkIT film team help bring Chasing Millions to the big screen

DkIT film students and lecturers were recently part of a lucky group who got the opportunity to attend the premiere of Chasing Millions, which took place in the Omniplex cinema in Dundalk, ahead of the film release on 9 October.

The Ireland-Australia co-production was filmed on location in Dublin and Dundalk, with some of the DkIT film team and past graduates involved in scouting out some of the Dundalk locations and also the film production.

The new comedy-drama heist film was inspired by the Northern Bank robbery and features well-known actors such as Christopher Eccleson, Madeline Madden Tom Vaughan-Lawlor and Ger Ryan.

DkIT’s connection with the film first began in September 2024 when producer Jane Doolan and Director Stephen Burke visited the film team in DKIT to talk about possible collaborations on the film. A further contact with Martin McElligott, Town Centre Commercial Manager then opened up some filming locations in Dundalk.  Recent graduate Cathal Mallon completed his work placement working on suitable Dundalk locations and other graduates such as James Clegg also worked on the shooting in late June and early July 2025.

Speaking after the screening, Third Year student Ryan Adams said

“I'm very grateful to get the opportunity to attend the Dundalk premiere of Chasing Millions last Friday night in the Omniplex and to hear more about the making of the film from the director Stephen Burke and actors Christopher Eccleston and Madeline Madden.  I thought it was a funny, light-hearted film!”

DkIT lecturer Sarah Mcann also hosted the Q&A afterward the film with Jane Doolan (Producer), Stephen Burke (Director), and main actors Christopher Eccleson & Madeline Madden.
