School of Health and Science

School of Health and Science at Dundalk Institute of Technology.

The School of Health and Science here in DkIT was formed in 2004 and consists of approximately 1200 students. The School is comprised of the following three departments and two sections:

→ Department of Nursing, Midwifery & Early Years
→ Department of Life & Health Sciences
→ Department of Agriculture, Food & Animal Health
→ Section of Midwifery
→ Section of Part-time Programmes

The School offers an exciting range of courses ranging from Level 7 to Level 10 in a friendly and supportive environment. Course areas including nursing, midwifery, early childhood studies, veterinary nursing, pharmaceutical science, biosciences, biopharmaceutical science, agriculture, food production, and environmental biology, among others.

Named after renowned astrophysicist Professor Jocelyn Bell Burnell, the Jocelyn Bell Burnell Science Building at DkIT is a state-of-the-art centre for teaching and research in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The building reflects Professor Jocelyn Bell Burnell's legacy of scientific discovery and commitment to inclusion in education.
Muirhevna Building

Muirhevna Building

The Muirhevna Building at Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) is a modern hub for health sciences education. Opened in 2005, this striking glass-fronted facility is home to the Department of Nursing, Midwifery & Early Years, supporting over 400 students across nursing, midwifery, and early childhood studies.

North Building

The North Building at Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) is home to the School of Engineering and some parts of Department of Life & Health Sciences. Designed to support practical, hands-on education, it features specialist classrooms, workshops, and laboratories tailored for engineering and applied science programmes.
