Details of Follow-on Programmes and Registration.
(a) Entry to Ordinary Degree Programmes
All DKIT students who pass Higher Certificates are eligible for admission to a cognate Ordinary Degree programme, and are automatically considered as applicants. You do not need to apply.
(b) Entry to Honours Degree Programmes
All students who achieve an overall average of 50% in one sitting in an Ordinary Degree may be eligible for admission to a cognate Honours Degree programme. Those eligible will be automatically considered as applicants. You do not need to apply. Some courses may have additional and different requirements.
Eligible students with a Higher Certificate or Ordinary Degree will be ranked in the following order, for admission purposes to post Higher Certificate or post Ordinary Degree programmes:
(i) Students with Merit or Distinction ranked in order of average.
(ii) Students from previous years who passed at their first sitting, in order of average.
(iii) Students from previous years who passed at their second or subsequent sitting, in order of average .
(iv) Other eligible students from the current year with Pass, at their first sitting, in order of average.
(v) Other eligible students from the current year with Pass, at their second or subsequent sitting, in order of average.
In most cases, students with Distinction or Merit will be offered a place on the follow-on programme for 2013/2014 academic year. However, some programmes may have additional eligibility requirements in order to progress.
As there may be more eligible students than places available, all eligible students may not be offered a place. There may be competition for some Ordinary Degree and Honours Degree programmes. Those students who are being offered a place will be notified during July/August.
N.B. Students must accept any offer of a place by the closing date on the offer notice.
The closing date will be strictly adhered to.
Post 1st Year Registration for 2015/16 Academic Year
Online Registration for Post 1st Years 15/16 will open on Monday 10th August 2015
Online Registration will be available from Monday 10th August to Friday 28th August 2015 for all full time students that are eligible to progress to the next stage of their programme or for students who are progressing onto Add on Programmes. Please note students not in receipt of a grant must pay a minimum of 50% of fees to complete their registration and the balance must be paid by the end of January 2016. Students who have autumn examinations or need to complete placement will be notified of registration at a later date.
