Course Overview

The aim of this two year add-on degree programme is to afford learners the opportunity to develop their intellectual creative and management expertise in Culinary Arts. This programme would be best suited to those with a level 7 award in Culinary Arts or equivalent and currently working in the Culinary Arts sector or planning to work in or open their own business in the sector. 

The programme has been designed to provide graduates with the competencies and knowledge required by industry in areas of Creativity and Innovation, Leadership and Management, Business Planning and Financial Management.

Course Delivery and Modules

The course runs over 2 years. Year 1 classes run on Mondays from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm and Tuesdays 9.00 am to 12.00 pm (subject to change). The programme is delivered through a mix of classroom-based lectures, lab classes and online delivery. 

Education Progression

Graduates from the programme can progress to relevant programmes at Level 9.

Fees and Funding

Total course fee: €3,000, €1,500 per annum (payable as follows):

YEAR 1

  • Accept Offer Fee: €200 (non-refundable)
  • Instalment 1 = €550 is payable by 31st October
  • Instalment 2 = €750 is payable by 28th February


YEAR 2

  • Instalment 1 = €750 is payable by 31st October
  • Instalment 2 = €750 is payable by 28th February

 

This course is FREE to those in receipt of an eligible DSP payment including:

Fees

EU Fees €1,500 per year

Entry requirements

Applicants should hold a level 7 qualification in Culinary arts with a GPA OF 50% or above.
Applicants with significant experience who do not hold a level 7 qualification will be assessed through the institutes RPL process. More about RPL at DkIT
