Students can apply to DkIT to transfer into 2nd, 3rd or 4th year on most of our Undergraduate courses. Courses that accept Advanced Entry Applications will be shown in the 'How to Apply' section of each individual course page.
Those interested should apply directly to DkIT by following the instructions below.
Entry Requirements
- Level 7 Ordinary Degree (post-Higher Certificate) Programmes: In order to proceed to an ordinary degree (post-higher certificate) programme in DkIT you will need to have completed a higher certificate course in DkIT, or equivalent elsewhere.
- Level 8 Honours Degree (post-Ordinary Degree) Programmes: In order to proceed to an honours degree programme you will need to have completed an ordinary degree course in DkIT, or equivalent elsewhere, and to have obtained the relevant qualifying standard at award level.
Please see the individual course pages for specific entry requirements.
Don't meet these entry requirements?
If you don't meet the entry requirements above, you may still be able to apply for your preferred course through the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) entry route.
You may or may not have a formal qualification however, you probably have an abundance of relevant learning from life and work that we value highly. This learning could qualify you for programme entry, advanced entry, and exemptions.
Apply Online
All advanced entry applications should be made directly to Dundalk Institute of Technology through the Online Applications System.
Applications must be submitted by the last Friday in June. (Late applications may be accepted in exceptional cases.)
