Certificate in Emergency and Critical Care Veterinary Nursing

The veterinary nursing courses at DkIT have been designed to facilitate flexibility across a range of career progression pathways.

Veterinary nurses work alongside veterinary practitioners, clients and owners, other animal healthcare professionals and veterinary practice administrative and support staff to ensure their patients receive gold-standard care.

A registered veterinary nurse’s skillset and responsibilities include surgical assistance and theatre practice, anaesthesia and pain relief, medication and fluid therapy delivery, laboratory testing, medical imaging, client care, animal nutrition and wound management, to name but a few! 

BSc in Veterinary Nursing

This course is designed to give students the knowledge and skills to make a significant contribution to animal health and welfare. Students will get to experience a wide range of areas, including anatomy and physiology of domestic animals, fluid therapy, medical and surgical nursing care, laboratory testing, veterinary diagnostics and therapeutics, office management and client communication.

BSc (Hons) in Advanced Veterinary Nursing

This add-on BSc (Honours) in advanced veterinary nursing programme is open to graduates of accredited level 7 qualifications in Veterinary Nursing and can be accessed on either a full-time or part-time basis.
