Dr Séamus Harvey
Biography
Séamus has worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher with NetwellCASALA at DkIT since January 2022. His primary role has been to support the completion of the SEURO project (Scaling European citizen driven transferable and transformative digital health), which seeks to evaluate the key factors necessary to prepare EU regions to implement person-centred, digital integrated health and social care solutions for multiple disease management. Specifically, Séamus has facilitated intervention delivery, conducted quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis, and produced peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations.
More recently, Séamus has also worked as a Lecturer on DkIT's Health and Physical Activity programme, delivering the Collecting and Analysing Data module, and on Dublin Business School's psychology programmes, delivering the Performance Psychology module to the BA(Hons) and Postgraduate Higher Diploma in Psychology students. He has also acted as a Research Project supervisor on DkIT's Health and Physical Activity programme.
Séamus completed a MSc. in Applied Sport and Exercise Psychology at Ulster University and a PhD in Sport Psychology at Bangor University. Funded by City Football Group, and using state-of-the-art methodological procedures, his PhD focussed upon the issue of talent development in elite youth football, and sought to provide new insights and resources that could advance Manchester City Football Club's Academy's efforts. He also contributed to the development, implementation, and testing of a mental well-being screening process on-site.

Séamus conducts research in and has produced publications in the areas of sport and exercise psychology, talent identification and development, health psychology and mental well-being, and digital health.
