Biography

Michael is a postdoctoral researcher with NetwellCASALA, contributing to ongoing research in digital health, ageing in place and human computer interaction. He earned his PhD from DCU with research focused on the user-centred design and evaluation of applications that support older informal carers in the self-management of their health and wellbeing, specifically in the areas of stress management, digital mindfulness-based intervention and sleep quality. 

Michael has worked as an investigator on the Smart Dementia Care project, which focused on building a digital toolkit to support people living with dementia and their carers in shared decision-making and planning and managing their care. He has taught a supervised underrate and postgraduate students in DkIT, lecturing in Human Computer Interaction, Research and Study Skills, and English Language. 

Michael is currently an investigator on the Health Frontiers - Technology Innovation Centre project, a flagship cross-border hub for research and innovation, driving advancements in next- generation digital health and medical technologies.
