Research & Interests
I am involved in research through the Centre of Freshwater and Environmental Studies (CFES) and have supervised PhD and MSc students to completion. I have also supervised Summer Undergraduate Research Projects. My research interests lie in the areas of Molecular Biology, Biochemistry and Bioinformatics.Prior to working in DkIT, I worked in a highly regulated healthcare company (Abbott Ireland Diagnostics Division, Sligo, Ireland), where I was responsible for new product development and technology transfer. During this time, I received a Site Director Award for successful product launch to market. I was also responsible for leading an international technical investigation regarding product quality and stability.
I have gained extensive research experience, having worked as a Research Scientist and research consultant in the U.K. for nearly 10 years.
