Biography

Andrea Kealy joined Dundalk Institute as a Lecturer in 2014. More recently, she took up the role of First Year Convenor of the BSc in Computing in Software Development at Dundalk Institute of Technology. 

Within her lecturing role, Andrea also coordinates a project with universities across Europe, called eCoal. The project sees DkIT students travel to France to work in multidisciplinary teams made up of students from Ireland, France and Portugal. Students gain practical experience through collaboration, learning, developing an app and presenting their app throughout the development lifecycle.

  • Diploma in Multimedia Applications Development (2004)

Research & Interests

Prior to serving as a Lecturer, Andrea worked as a researcher in NetwellCASALA, a leading applied multi-disciplinary research centre designing, developing and testing digital technology to support the management of health and wellbeing as people age. Her research focus was on using sensors to infer and examine activities of daily living.
