DkIT Lecturer to present at Screen Skills Ireland Industry Education Forum 2019
04 November 2019Film & TV Programme Director, Lorcan Dunne, pictured with DkIT President, Dr Michael Mulvey and Hollywood Director, John Moore will highlight DkITs industry engagement at this forum to be attended by over 200 audio visual practitioners and educators.
The Forum will bring together industry stakeholders, education providers & policy influencers to focus on the skills development challenges and opportunities related to the screen sectors in Ireland. Panel 2 – Education Collaborations with Industry in Practice will include Film & TV Programme Director, Lorcan Dunne, discussing the future strategic direction of DKIT and the increased emphasis on industry collaboration.
Screen Skills Ireland occupies a central and crucial role at the centre of training and skills development for the AV industry in Ireland. It is well-regarded by stakeholders, with a strong reputation for quality and for engaging industry. The organisation is seen as a key link between the industry and skills development provision, with a deep understanding of the needs of the sector.
Speaking about the event, Lorcan had this to say, "Since taking on the role of Film & TV Programme Director in 2017, I have continued to grow our links with industry. We recently redesigned the Film and TV programme and Screen Skills Ireland was key to that process. I look forward to highlighting the incredible work by my colleagues and the students at this forum. By involving industry in our programme, it gives them confidence in DkIT and the graduates we are producing."
This event is open to those who are involved in education or production related to the Screen Sector (Film, TV, Post Production, VFX, Animation, Games and AR/VR) in Ireland. This is a free event, but registration is required and places are limited.
