25 November 2022

Dundalk Institute of Technology are delighted to report that one of their academics Dr Ingrid Lewis, lecturer in Film Studies was recently invited to take part in the prestigious Global Academic Reputation Survey held annually by Times Higher Education World University Rankings.

Times Higher Education (THE) provides one of the world’s most comprehensive and reputable university rankings and The Times Higher Education Academic Reputation Survey is available in 12 languages.

The participants to this comprehensive survey are carefully selected from the whole world based on their record of research publications.  Dr Lewis was chosen to represent her peers in both disciplines including Film Studies and country (Ireland).

The survey is strictly invitation-only; Universities cannot make nominations or supply contact lists, and individuals cannot nominate themselves for participation. Therefore, Dr Lewis’s participation, together with those of other highly regarded academics, helps THE to generate a comprehensive view of global higher education and relevant rankings.

Dr Ingrid Lewis publications over the past 5 years include two academic books: Women in European Holocaust Films: Perpetrators, Victims and Resisters (Palgrave Macmillan, 2017) and European Cinema in the Twenty-First Century: Discourses, Directions and Genres (co-edited with Laura Canning, Palgrave Macmillan, 2020).  Palgrave Macmillan is one of the top academic publishers in the world.
