New DkIT International and Erasmus Students enjoy Welcome Days at DkIT
New DkIT International and Erasmus Students enjoyed International Welcome Days at DkIT on 08th and 09th September.
Students came from across the globe and accessed a range of information and supports, and enjoyed a range of activities in a fun setting, coordinated by DkIT International Office.
Welcoming the new students, DkIT International Office Manager, Ms Noreen Carney said:
“We are delighted to welcome all of you to DkIT Campus today. It is inspiring to see so many new students arrive here today from all across the globe and from so many of our European Erasmus partner universities networks! The international diversity that you bring to DkIT campus is special and unique. We look forward to supporting you throughout each stage of your study abroad journey at DkIT so that you have a positive and fulfilling student experience here at DkIT”
During the 2 days of International Welcome, students met with a range of professional support staff from Student Services, the Student Learning and Development Centre, the Students Union, and academic staff.
International Student Ambassadors provided great support over the 2 days, leading out with Campus Tours, and with peer-to-peer student support.
New students were also introduced to the active DkIT ESN Committee, who coordinated a fun Treasure Hunt of Dundalk Town for the new students on Day 2.
Students also enjoyed icebreakers in DkIT Sports, including an introduction to traditional Irish Ceili Dancing, and introduction to Gaelic games.
