MSc Computer Animation and MSc Games and XR showcase animations
Congratulations to all the MSc Computer Animation and MSc in Games and Extended Reality students on their inaugural showcase events over the last few weeks.
The first event was a live screening of animations at the IMC Cinema in Dundalk. There was a wonderful diversity of work on display, ranging from real-world social commentary to fiction, incorporating both 2D techniques and 3D animation. The projects demonstrated the students’ creativity in storytelling, as well as their ability to challenge and expand the use of media in innovative ways.
It was an especially enjoyable evening because, as the courses are delivered fully online, it provided an exciting opportunity for students to meet face-to-face after engaging with their peers and lecturers over four semesters of online classes. The event was a rewarding celebration of their talent, creativity, and dedication.
The second event ran alongside FÍS held in the PJ Carrolls Building in Dundalk Institute of Technology and provided an opportunity to showcase a wide variety of interactive games, virtual reality prototypes, and animation work. It was a highly engaging evening that allowed many of the students to experience and interact with each other’s projects, while once again celebrating their creativity, innovation, and hard work.
A special thank you to Peter Morris, Module Coordinator for the MSc programmes, for organising these showcase events and helping make them such a success and the whole team for their support for the students over the past two years.
