Kismet Theatre Company Wins 13 Awards at Ultimate Performing Arts Challenge 2026
DkIT’s student‑led Kismet Theatre Company recently delivered an exceptional performance at the Ultimate Performing Arts Challenge (UPAC) 2026, earning 13 awards across multiple vocal and ensemble categories.
Kismet’s success was highlighted by a series of top‑tier placements in the Senior Broadway Vocalist category, where all soloists ranked within the top five. Emiliano Vazquez achieved first place, followed by Lorianné O’Rourke in third and Ava Flynn in fourth, demonstrating the company’s depth of vocal talent.
In the Worlds category, Kismet continued its strong showing with Lorianné O’Rourke taking first place and Claudia Gonzalez securing second, marking another impressive sweep for the team.
Kismet’s collaborative performances also earned high recognition. Camille Helaine and Lorianné O’Rourke placed second in the duet category, while the trio of Alisia de Brún, Emiliano Vazquez, and Lorianné O’Rourke won first place. The company’s Vocal Broadway Ensemble further added to the medal count with a first‑place finish for their group performance.
Among a field of 140 competing acts, Kismet Theatre Company secured three of the ten finalist positions. The competition culminated in a major individual honour as Lorianné O’Rourke was named Best Overall Senior Vocalist at UPAC 2026.
This outstanding achievement — a total of 13 awards — marks a significant milestone for Kismet Theatre Company and reflects the dedication, artistry, and professionalism of its performers.
