DkIT’s largest Careers Fair to date showcases huge career potential in the region

Almost 80 employers recently visited Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) to engage with students at the annual Careers Fair.
In what was the Institute’s largest Careers Fair to date, the event provided students and graduates with an excellent opportunity to explore graduate programmes, placements, internships and career opportunities across a wide range of sectors.

Employers represented a wide range of disciplines including business, engineering, finance, computing, health sciences, veterinary nursing, social care, education, sport, youth work, hospitality and the built environment. Students and graduates also learned about opportunities to work internationally.

Organised by DkIT's Careers & Employability Centre, the fair aims to help students discover career opportunities at local, regional and national levels while developing a deeper understanding of the skills, attributes and experiences sought by employers. For exhibitors, the event provided an opportunity to engage with talented students and graduates from DkIT's four schools and a broad range of academic disciplines.

Anthony Murray, Head of Careers & Employability at DkIT, said:

"Our Careers Fair continues to grow year on year and this year's event was our biggest and most successful to date. It was fantastic to see such a strong turnout from employers across so many sectors, demonstrating the wealth of opportunities available to our students and graduates both within the region and further afield.
We are incredibly grateful to all of the organisations that took the time to engage with our students. Their support plays a vital role in helping students explore career options, gain industry insights and build valuable professional connections.

Many of the organisations attending also play a key role in supporting student work placements across our programmes. These partnerships help students gain valuable industry experience as part of their studies and often create pathways to graduate employment.
One of the highlights each year is seeing DkIT graduates return as employers and industry representatives. It is a powerful reminder of the impact our graduates are making across a wide range of sectors and provides current students with an inspiring example of the opportunities that lie ahead."
