DkIT students excel in National Supply Chain Simulation challenge
On Saturday 18th April, DkIT was proud to host the CILT (Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport) Student Knowledge Day, organised by CILT Mobility & Supply Chain Skillnet.
The Knowledge Day was part of an initiative supported by the Department of Transport which highlights career opportunities within the industry, green and digital innovation, and Ireland’s leadership in creating sustainable, resilient supply chains. This event was part of the fourth annual Logistics and Supply Chain Skills Week.
Over 100 industry representatives, staff and students from campuses across Ireland including UCD and DCU attended the event. Speakers including the Operations Director of OohPod Simon Joly and Executive Vice President of Overhaul, David Warrick, spoke about the innovation, trends and challenges facing the supply chain industry and gave fantastic advice to students who plan to enter this changing and challenging industry.
To round off a fantastic event for DKIT Erasmus students, who are studying the Supply Chain Management module, took home second prize in the National Supply Chain Simulation - Student Challenge. The student team who originate from France, Spain and Germany, comprised of Margot Bonnefoy, Erica Pauzat Devillaine, Paula Espada Serrino and Tabea Steinhauser completed a business simulation task over two evenings and were delighted to come in second place competing against the different HEI's.
