DkIT student James Moonan celebrates first solo exhibition at the Highlanes Art Gallery
DkIT student James Moonan is celebrating his first solo exhibition at the Highlanes Art Gallery.
James, who is a student in the Skills for Independent Living course at DkIT is exhibiting some of his award-winning recent work alongside pieces created throughout his childhood in his exhibition titled Once Upon a Page. He found creative inspiration in picture book illustrations and children’s animation while navigating growing up with autism.
Kindly sponsored by Drogheda Credit Union, the exhibition celebrates James’s artistic journey and imagination, with art playing an important role in how he communicates and connects with the world.
Through the exhibition, James wants to show his artistic journey from when he first began exploring his creative side as a young boy to now as a young adult. James, who aspires to teach other kids how to draw or paint, encourages other aspiring artists to ask for help from other creatives and explore what interests them most.
The exhibition is running from 17th January – 7th March 2026 in The Highlanes Municipal Art Gallery, Drogheda.
