DkIT signs Articulation Agreement with City of Dublin FET College Dhúlaigh to support progression routes for Higher Education students

Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) is delighted to announce the recent signing of an Articulation Agreement supporting progression routes into Higher Education with City of Dublin FET College Dhúlaigh.

DkIT was pleased to host colleagues from City of Dublin FET College Dhúlaigh for the formal signing of the articulation agreement on 25 September 2026.

This agreement will allow students who have completed the drama programme in City of Dublin FET College Dhúlaigh and gained specific academic attainments to progress to Year 2 of either BA Musical Theatre or BA Drama, Theatre and Film at DkIT in the Department of Creative Arts, Media and Music.

The signing of this agreement directly supports the ambitions set out in DkIT's Strategic Plan 2024-2028, reflecting DkIT’s commitment to widening access and participation. At DkIT, we recognise the critical role that Further Education plays in supporting learner success. By enhancing collaboration between the Further and Higher Education sectors, the agreement will provide students with transparent progression routes, expanded opportunities and greater confidence in planning their future educational journeys.

The agreement reinforces the shared ambition of both institutions to place students at the centre of educational progression and success.

Speaking at the signing, Dr. Diarmuid O’Callaghan, President of DkIT said:

“It was wonderful to welcome colleagues from the City of Dublin FET College Dhúlaigh to DkIT.  This agreement strengthens further to higher educational pathways for students and creates exciting new opportunities for learners across the Dublin region to access degree programmes in the creative arts.”
