DkIT Celebrates N-TUTORR Impact with Launch of Interactive Report
DkIT recently launched its N-TUTORR Impact Report at a celebratory event that brought together staff, students, and senior leadership to reflect on the Institute's achievements under the nationally funded N-TUTORR project.
Funded by NextGenerationEU and co-ordinated by the national Programme Management Office and THEA/TUA with the support of the HEA throughout, N-TUTORR brought together seven higher education institutions across the Technological Higher Education Sector in a unified effort to transform teaching, learning, and the student experience. The launch event, chaired by Dr. Ronan Bree, DkIT N-TUTORR Institutional Lead, featured an opening address, reflections from staff and students, and a live showcase of the interactive report.
The event was opened by Dr. Sheila Flanagan, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Registrar, who acknowledged the collective effort that defined the project across the Institute.
"What strikes me most about the N-TUTORR journey at DkIT is that it was very much about 'people'," Dr. Flanagan said. "The staff who embraced new ways of working, the students who shaped our direction, and the collective commitment to making lasting and meaningful change. Well done to all involved, both locally and nationally.”
A reflection session chaired by Dr. Moira Maguire, N-TUTORR Stream 1 Co-Lead, featured contributions from Dr. Caroline Gilleran Stephens, Dr. Sinead Loughran, and Áine Cleary, a Student Champion representative. Each speaker shared personal reflections on their experience of the N-TUTORR project - how it shaped their practice, supported innovation, and led to initiatives that have gone on to have lasting impact at scale across the Institute and beyond.
The DkIT impact report, prepared by Dr. Bree, captures the full breadth of work undertaken locally, from digital collaboration active-learning spaces and smart lightboard studios, to staff fellowship programmes, student partnership initiatives, and sustainable digital platforms including a campus wayfinding app, and an AI-powered academic integrity student chatbot. Designed as a living document, the report features embedded videos, live links to resources and outputs, and can be explored by section. At the launch, Ronan guided attendees through the report, highlighting how to navigate its interactive features and drawing out key achievements from across the twelve sections. DkIT's work formed part of a wider collaborative effort across all partner institutions, with teams openly sharing knowledge, resources, and best practice throughout the project.
The event concluded with Ronan acknowledging the contributions made by the wider N-TUTORR team at DkIT, including the N-TUTORR Fellows, Student Champions, core working group members, senior management, and the many academic and professional staff who engaged with the project. Recognition was also given to the collaborative efforts at national level, including the programme steering board, partner institutions, advisory and working group members, and the funding and policy support that made the project possible.
"Projects can come and go, but impact stays. Everything we achieved here, we achieved together...and that's exactly why the impact will be long lasting”. Dr. Ronan Bree
