DkIT and Ó Fiaich Institute sign Articulation Agreement to strengthen progression routes for Architectural Technology students
Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) and Ó Fiaich Institute recently signed an Agreement to enhance progression routes for graduates of the Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Architectural Technology & Design in Ó Fiaich Institute.
Under the agreement, graduates of the Level 6 programme in Ó Fiaich Institute can progress in to the 2nd year of either the Level 7 in Architectural Technology or the Level 7 in Building Surveying in DkIT.
The Advanced Certificate in Architectural Technology & Design is a new Level 6 programme in Ó Fiaich Institute, building on their existing Level 5 qualification in Architectural Technology & Design. The programme was designed in consultation with the Department of the Built Environment in DkIT to create a direct pathway for students on the Level 7 programmes, and from there potentially on to Level 8 and professional chartership.

Creating new pathways like this allows the progression of students in both Architectural Technology and Building Surveying programmes, expanding educational opportunities across our communities, and increasing available talent for industries in these sectors across the region.”

A similar articulation agreement is in place with Monaghan Institute since January 2025. Students and teachers from Ó Fiaich Institute recently joined staff and students from Monaghan Institute’s Advanced Cert in Architectural Technology (Level 6) for a Taster Day in DkIT. As part of the visit, students were given an overview of the Department, a tour of the facilities and a chance to experience lectures. They also met students who had previously studied in Monaghan Institute and made the transition to DkIT.
