Visiting Professorship awarded to DkIT Researcher
Professor Colette Henry, Head of Department of Business Studies, has been awarded a Visiting Professorship from Oxford Brookes University, UK. Formerly, Colette held the role of Norbrook Professor of Business & Enterprise at the Royal Veterinary College, London, the first chair in veterinary business in Europe. In the past decade, she has been awarded Visiting Professorial roles at several universities, including at Birmingham City University, UiT-The Arctic University of Norway, and Griffith University, Queensland Australia.
Founded as the Oxford School of Art in 1865, Oxford Brookes was awarded university status in 1992, honouring the work of John Henry Brookes OBE who had led the institution’s phenomenal growth from the late 1920s.
Oxford Brookes University comprises eleven schools within two faculties: the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (AHSS) and the Faculty of Health, Science and Technology (HST). The university has 16,900 students of which 17% are part-time learners. The university is currently ranked as ‘world leading’ in 21 subjects, including Business & Management (QS World University Rankings, 2024). The university is also a member of the University Alliance.
Commenting on her Visiting Professorship award from the Vice-Chancellor at Oxford Brookes, Colette said:
"I am honoured to be awarded this role and look forward to working with the Oxford Brookes team on multiple international research projects. These projects include developing a new Encyclopaedia on gender and entrepreneurship with Edwrd Elgar Publishing and supporting Oxford Brookes’ ongoing policy work on women’s entrepreneurship with the OECD through the Global WEP research network."
