Naomi Gatta wins Best in Show at FÍS 2025
DkIT student Naomi Gatta has been named as Best in Show at the Institute’s FÍS exhibition for 2025. Hosted by the Department of Creative Arts, Media and Music at DkIT, the FÍS exhibition highlights an exciting and diverse collection of student-led projects created by final-year Creative Media students, that explore the changing connections of technology, design, and narrative.

This year’s exhibition featured immersive installations and interactive games, critical design publications and 3D environments, with each project reflecting the dedication and innovation of students poised to enter the creative industries.
The entries were judged by a fantastic panel including Robin O’Leary, Head of Creative, STATSports; Conor Heavey – Lead Creative Producer, STATSports and Paul Gonnelly, Motion Designer (formerly Virgin Media Television). The judges were joined by JJ Quinlan, FÍS Organiser; Adele Commins, Head of Department of Creative Arts, Media and Music and Fergal Mc Caffery, Head of Schoool of Informatics and Creative Arts.
Naomi was awarded Best in Show for her bold, creative print project Eesh, which captured the spirit of Ireland’s youth—exploring streetwear, nightlife, and the impact of social media on identity. With stunning graphics and sharp editorial voice, Eesh impressed everyone who saw it. The judges praised Naomi’s work for its innovation, visual style, and editorial strength—calling it a standout in a showcase filled with top-tier talent.
Speaking after her win, Naomi said:
"I honestly couldn’t believe it when I won, I really wasn’t expecting it. Regardless of the outcome, I was already proud of the work I’d created and the love it received meant everything to me. The idea for EESH came quite naturally. I’ve always loved magazines and print design, and as a creative surrounded by so many incredibly talented peers, I wanted to build something that truly celebrates the voices and artistry of Irish youth. EESH is a nod to the Irish word ‘aois’, meaning ‘age’ - a symbol of a new era and a more inclusive Ireland. It’s a publication made by us, for us. EESH is for everyone."
