DkIT hosts “Pathways for All” inclusive career information morning
The Skills for Independent Living Group at DkIT proudly hosted its first-ever “Pathways for All: Inclusive Career Information Morning” on Thursday, 27th November, on campus.
This landmark event was designed to empower students with disabilities by providing access to tailored career information and resources. Attendees had the opportunity to learn about inclusive employment practices, accessibility services, and pathways to success in the workplace.
The morning featured guest speakers from WALK, Louth EmployAbility Service, and NOW Group, who shared valuable insights on the supports available for individuals with disabilities as they navigate their career journeys. Representatives from the Department of Social Protection’s also spoke about their role in helping students not only find employment but stay and progress in work. They explained in-work supports designed to ease the transition into employment and reduce anxiety about losing income supports during this process.
Expert speakers shared valuable insights on disability supports in education and employment, while students explored resources that promote equal opportunities.
DkIT remains committed to creating an inclusive campus environment, and the Skills for Independent Living Group was thrilled with the fantastic engagement and participation. This event marked an important step toward building a more inclusive future for every learner.
