Built Environment students presented with achievement certificates for Measured Surveys 2 surveying skills module.
Second Year students in the Department of the Built Environment, studying Architectural Technology, Building Surveying, and Construction Management were recently presented with certificates for achievements in their first academic year.
From January to June of this year, students competed in a range of activities during the Measured Surveys 2 module, building on key learnings and skills gained from the 2024 Measured Surveys 1 module.

In this module, students worked both independently and collaboratively to plan and execute a range of surveying tasks. They developed competencies in measured site and existing building surveys, gained an introduction to modern electronic surveying instruments and techniques, and practiced advanced levelling methods. The module also covered inverted staff readings, data preparation and analysis, calculations, laser levelling, and the production of cross-sections, longitudinal sections, and contour drawings, among other key skills.
20 students were presented with certificates and recognised for their fantastic achievements of achieving 70% or above in their Measured Surveys 2 Continuous Assessment submission.
These certificates were presented to them by their lecturers Keren Goodman, Pauric Mc Kenna and Enda Fields.
Additionally, the top three students—one from each of the Built Environment programmes—received prizes sponsored by ECC, one of the leading engineering companies in Ireland, the UK, and Europe. Pauric McKenna of ECC was present to personally present all winners with their well-deserved achievement certificates.
The top three student winners were, Eduardas Kutovovas, Adam Mc Elvaney, and Ruslan Arseniev.
