Nursing Students Present Funds Raised to Charities

General Nursing students raised a total of €2,135 for two local charities, North East Cancer Research & Education Trust (NECRET) and the Gary Kelly Cancer Support Centre. The students organised two events held in the Muirhevna Building on campus which raised critical funding which is crucial in providing essential support services to cancer patients and their families during their most challenging times.

This year’s fundraising event had added significance for the Department of Nursing, Midwifery and Early Years due to the loss of a dear friend and colleague Geraldine Killeen who herself worked tirelessly on raising awareness and funds for these charities over many years. Geraldine’s lovely family were able to attend the presentation of the raised funds to the respective charities.
