DkIT’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Team hold Nutrition for Menopause workshop

In recognition of World Menopause Day, the Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion team held a special "Nutrition for Menopause" workshop, on 7th November. The workshop, led by Rachel Graham, a highly experienced Nutritional Therapist and Medicinal Chef with over 25 years of expertise, offered invaluable insights into how nutrition can support you during menopause and explored case studies of menopausal women.

During the workshop, Rachel explored how key nutrients can reduce chronic disease risk while rejuvenating the body. She also gave attendees a glimpse of her new book, The Menopause Kitchen, a guide packed with delicious recipes designed to nourish your body and mind through midlife and beyond. During the session, Rachel discussed the 43 officially registered menopausal symptoms and how getting the right amount of the Meno 8 nutrients such as phytoestrogens, fibre, protein and antioxidants can help to relieve these symptoms. The audience was also treated to a demonstration on how to create a protein and fibre rich breakfast.

Rachel is certified in lifestyle medicine, plant-based nutrition, fermentation, and raw food mastery. She runs an online menopause nutrition clinic specialising in heart health, digestive health, and hormone balance, and is an accredited Menopause Educator with The British Menopause Charity.
