Cell Explorers - Fantastic DNA in a Box
The Fantastic DNA in a box workshop is offered by the Cell Explorers team and can be facilitated in DkIT or in your school
The SFI funded Cell Explorers programme here at DkIT is co-ordinated by Suzanne Linnane and Caroline Gilleran Stephens.
This workshop is a classroom kit, complete with both materials and resources, that allows pupils/students in your class to extract DNA from a banana individually. You can either run this activity yourself in your classroom, guided by our downloadable resources, or you also have the option of inviting Cell Explorers scientists to remotely facilitate session. This session is aimed at senior cycle primary school children.
