Louth Chamber Orchestra Concert “From Baroque to the Big Screen
The Louth Chamber Orchestra, a new and exciting musical initiative will make its debut performance “From Baroque to the Big Screen” on May 16th at 2:00 PM in the Fr. McNally Recital Room at Dundalk Institute of Technology (DKIT).
The ensemble brings together former students of Music Generation Louth and other young talented musicians from the area, with the orchestra created to offer these young players a meaningful opportunity to continue making music together beyond their initial training.
The orchestra was founded by musicians and educators Francesca De Nardi and Davide Forti, two Dundalk-based musicians of Italian origin who perform as Sonas Duo, an ensemble known for its dynamic performances and commitment to innovative programming.
Under the direction of Francesca and Davide—who also perform alongside the ensemble—the Louth Chamber Orchestra aims to create a vibrant and collaborative musical environment. The debut concert will showcase a diverse and engaging programme, spanning from the elegance of the Baroque era to the evocative power of modern film scores, highlighting both the versatility and enthusiasm of the group.
The project is generously supported by Music Generation Louth, which provides rehearsal space, and DkIT and will also feature DKIT students, further strengthening the collaboration between the orchestra and the institute’s vibrant music community.
Admission: Entry to the concert is free, but attendees are requested to reserve their place in advance by emailing [email protected]
