Dr Niamh Shaw: Exploring the Arctic: Science, adventure and the power of belief

DkIT's School of Health and Science and School of Engineering invite you to a morning of exploring the Arctic with Dr Niamh Shaw. Having recently returned from her latest adventure in the Arctic, an art-science residency at The Arctic Circle Summer 2025 Expedition, Niamh will share details of her experience exploring the themes of science, adventure and the power of belief.

This event is aimed at 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th year secondary school students. Booking for this event is free, but you must register your place in advance by emailing Dr Orla Sherlock at [email protected]. Lunch will also be provided.

Dundalk native, Dr Niamh Shaw. Dr Niamh Shaw, who is originally from Dundalk, is an Irish engineer, scientist, writer and performer who was recently voted one of Ireland’s leading science communicators. Niamh believes in Dreaming Big and is currently on a mission to get to Space.
