Certificate in Sustainable Agricultural Technologies and Energy
Course Overview
This 10-credit programme has been developed in collaboration with Teagasc Ballyhaise Agricultural College. This programme is targeted at holders of level 7 qualifications in Agriculture and related areas and it will cover the key in-demand subjects of Energy Management in Agriculture and Digital Agriculture. Upon completion of this course, graduates of this programme will demonstrate:
- The ability to identify appropriate sustainable energy technologies to match resources to demand for a given situation from an energy, carbon and economic perspective.
Course Delivery and Modules
The course will be delivered via live online lectures on one evening per week and recorded lectures on one evening per week. In addition, students will attend DkIT for Saturday workshops.
Due to the blended learning delivery within this course, students should have access to a PC / Mac, a headset with a mic, and a broadband internet connection from home, so as to be able to fully participate in the course. Basic IT skills essential

Fees and Funding
Course fee is €700 payable in 2 instalments as follows:
- Instalment 1: €200 (non-refundable) is payable to confirm your acceptance of a course place.
- Instalment 2: €500 is payable by the 28th February.

Entry Requirements
The minimum entry requirement for the level 8 major award is a level 7 major award in agriculture/ animal science/ crop science or a cognate area. Graduates of other disciplines will be assessed for entry through the Recognition of Prior Learning process on an individual case-by-case basis. Learn more about RPL at DkIT
