Building Control Amendment Regulations (BCAR) and Regulatory Control
Course Overview
This one semester Level 9 certified programme, BCAR & Regulatory Control shall enable the student to fully apply, recognise and understand the Building Control System and the Building Regulations associated with domestic and non-domestic buildings and their environs.
Building Control and Regulation systems are an intrinsic part of the professional practice of those working in Built Environment professions.
Career Opportunities
The programme will enhance a student’s career opportunities throughout the surveying and built environments professions, including building surveying, architecture, architectural technology, building control, fire safety, engineering and project management.
Course Delivery and Modules
One class of three hours per week for 1 semester delivered online, (typically Monday at either 9 am to 12 pm or 1 pm to 4 pm.
Students of this programme will join students of the MSc in Postgraduate Diploma in Building Surveying for online delivery.

Education Progression
This is a higher education Level 9 7.5-credit module which may be recognised for modules exemption on DkIT programmes in Building Surveying. It may also be recognised for module exemption on other programmes by other higher education providers.

Entry Requirements
Students would need to have a Honours Degrees (2:2 or better) in a related (cognate) area.
Students who do not meet this requirement but have relevant work experience in a related area may be assessed for entry.
