Course Overview
The MBS in Strategic Data Analytics for Business provides graduates with a set of critical and highly employable skills in data analytics, strategic management and leadership. Participants will be introduced to the fundamentals and principles of data analytics, and will be provided with a comprehensive toolkit to communicate with data owners, frame data problems and realise business value.
Upon completion of this programme, graduates will be able to: apply advanced concepts and techniques relating to data analytics, strategic management and leadership; critically evaluate multiple sources of business and management data; make informed decisions on complex management and functional areas to help boost a business's growth potential, performance and competitiveness; and develop and implement a comprehensive data governance strategy for a specified business or industry.

The core Data Analytics competencies that learners will develop through the programme will enable them to take on specialist Data Management roles within industry, while the Business Strategy and Leadership competencies will enable them to manage existing projects/teams, develop and lead new initiatives, and instigate projects that add value and make a difference to any organisation. They will be able to oversee the creation and implementation of a strategy for their domain around the following: data requirements, data governance, technology requirements, skills requirements and change management. They will be able to work with data engineers, data scientists, and data analysts to create this data strategy. Perhaps the most applicable title would be Data Strategist. Hence, graduates will be able to seek specialist or broad Data Analytics, Strategy and Leadership roles in government organisations, SMEs and large corporates, both nationally and internationally.
Course Delivery and Modules
The programme is delivered in blended mode involving students participating in weekly online classes and also attending a number of mandatory face to face sessions on campus for laboratory and group work. The dates and times for campus attendance will be published in advance to allow participants to plan their schedules. Please note that these face-to-face sessions are mandatory and full attendance at all is required
The programme is delivered over 1 year in full-time mode or 2 years in part-time mode.

Entry Requirements
This programme is aimed at non-technical graduates. Candidates must hold a Level 8 Honours Degree. The award must be at Honours 2.2 level or above. International candidates must have a good working knowledge of the English language at IELTS level 6.5 or equivalent.
